Dubai Creek Mixed Open 2022 Sponsored by Park Hyatt Dubai

Returning for its Second Edition, the Dubai Creek Mixed Open is becoming a staple event in the annual calendar here at The Creek. Despite the hot conditions, 26 pairs competed in a Greensomes Format, meaning teamwork was going to be key in this tightly contested event. Thank you again to all of this year’s competitors and to our sponsor Park Hyatt Dubai, for their generous support.

Now for the results..

Dorin Mateiu was the most accurate player on Hole 8, winning the Nearest to the Pin competition, whilst Hannah Mannion took the prize for Longest Drive on Hole 12! A big thank you to De Luca Sartoria for sponsoring our On-Course Events today!

For the main prizes, our pairs competed for both a Gross and an Overall competition.

So, firstly in the Gross Division, finishing runners-up were the father-daughter combination of Anca-Mirela Mateiu and Dorin Mateiu, with a rock solid score of 6-over par, 77.

Taking first place in the Gross Division and clearly putting their home advantage to use, with a fantastic score of 2-over par, 73, were the pair of Eduardo Galeppini and our current Lady Captain Beatrice Galeppini.

The Overall Division was an even closer contest, with both First and Second Place claimed by some superb scores. Last year’s Lady Captain, Joy Lirio, the intial founder of the Mixed Open, finished Runner-Up with her Husband David Gowans. They shot a brilliant 7-under par, 64.  Well done Dave and Joy!

However, it was a first time pairing that claimed victory in this year’s Dubai Creek Mixed Open. Kevin Savage and Dan Tong shot a superb 8-under par, 63, to win by one and put their names onto the Honors Boards as the second pair to win this event!

Well done to our winning pair and the rest of our winners today. They each received vouchers for a night’s stay and breakfast in the Park Hyatt Hotel! We look forward to welcoming everyone back next year for this brilliant event, and once again thank De Luca Sartoria and Park Hyatt Dubai for creating a memorable day for all of those involved.
